Changing the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws:
The membership has replaced the old Gran Mutual Water Company Bylaws.
At the January 26, 2011 membership annual meeting, ballot votes for
new proposed Bylaws were counted and the new Bylaws were approved. At
the March 17, 2011 Board meeting, the results were entered into the
Gran Mutual records and the Bylaws were adopted. The new Bylaws include
the provisions for nominations of new Board of Director members. See
Upcoming Events for more information.
The membership also voted to remove Atricle V from the Articles of
Incorporation. This Article named the three first directors in 1965;
Gilbert Alm, Thomas DuFore, and Richard Horton. The number of Directors
currently is five. The number and duties of the Board of Directors are
now discussed in the Bylaws.
On other subjects:
The Board of Directors has established a fee
schedule. It includes a Real Estate Transfer Fee that is collected
whenever a property ownership changes. There is also a late fee. The
policy on late fees was decided by
the Board in December 2008.
With regard to water quality, the Clean Water Act requires the Butte
County Health Department to inspect and advise the water operator for
Gran Mutual. Gran Mutual is in compliance. Copies of the Consumer Confidence
Reports and water quality test results are on other pages of the web
site.
These laws also require a means of Emergency
Notification of users in the event of contamination. All emergency
notices, or notice of shut off, will be posted at the gate or entrance
to the developments.
